Classic barbecue sauce originating from Memphis, Tennessee.
Pit Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound butter
- 1 pint ketchup
- 1 pint white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon onion juice
- 1 1/2 cloves garlic pressed with a garlic press
- Dash cayenne pepper
- Dash black pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
Instructions

Add all ingredients to a large saucepan.

Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.

Taste, and add more salt if necessary.

Serve.

Store in refrigerator up to a week.
