A tomato based barbecue sauce.

19th Hole Barbecue Sauce
Servings: 2 cups sauce
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons dried onion
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole mustard seed
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon crushed oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cracked pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-3 drops liquid smoke
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Simmer gently for 20 to 25 minutes, or until it reaches the consistency you like.
  3. Remove the bay leaf. Serve with beef or pork.
