Apple Ginger Sauce
Serve this sauce with a slow roasted or barbecued pork roast. A nice break from typical tomato based barbecue sauces.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup apple cider
- 1/3 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 tablespoon brandy
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon butter
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
-
Mix the apple cider and chicken broth in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
-
Simmer uncovered until sauce is reduced to a 1/2 cup.
-
Mix the water, brandy, and cornstarch. Slowly stir this into the cider mixture with a whisk. Cook for about 2 minutes, until thickened.
-
Remove from heat and add in cider vinegar, butter, and ginger.
