The longer the meat is marinated, the deeper the red-purple color of the meat from the marinade.

Italian Red Wine Marinade
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups hearty red wine such as Shiraz
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning mixed herbs
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
