Sweet Bourbon Mop Sauce

This mop sauce is sweetened brown sugar and beet molasses. Use for beef or pork. Recipe adapted from The Little Smoker Book.

Sweet Bourbon Mop
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Kentucky bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions almost blended
  • 1/4 cup sugar beet molasses regular molasses may be substitute
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients together. Use now or store in the refrigerator. When using, don't use at very high temperatures since the sugar in the sauce may burn.
